Free General Health Check-up Camp – Kothapeta, East Godavari District
AdminThe Free General Health Check-up Camp took place successfully in Kothapeta, East Godavari District, from January 10 to January 15, 2024, with generous support from Shri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham, Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, in honor of Jagadguru Sri Shankara Vijayendra Saraswati Swami.
A committed team of ten skilled doctors and medical personnel from various cities, including Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, and Hyderabad, collaborated with local health professionals to carry out this wellness initiative. The camp aimed to provide general health screenings and facilitate the early detection of lifestyle-related diseases.
🩺 Services Provided During the Camp
During the 4-day camp, the following free services were offered to the community:
- General medical consultations
- Blood pressure & diabetes screening
- ECG and basic cardiac assessments
- Eye and dental check-ups
- Nutritional counseling
- Health awareness sessions on hygiene, nutrition, and preventive care
Over 1020 residents from Kothapeta and nearby villages attended the camp, and 138 individuals were identified for further treatment and referred to partner hospitals for continued care — all at no cost to the patients.
📅 Next Camp Announcement
The next General Health Check-up Camp in East Godavari District is tentatively scheduled for May 2025, in another rural area to continue providing free healthcare access to underserved communities. The initiative will once again be supported by Shri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham, in collaboration with local health authorities and volunteers.
