Job Description

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Records Clerk to join our team in Palm Springs, California. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate and organized patient medical records, ensuring the confidentiality and accessibility of critical healthcare information. Responsibilities: - Create and assemble new patient charts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to organizational standards. - Prepare alpha-lists, labels, and superbills for upcoming patient appointments. - Retrieve medical records for scheduled visits, walk-ins, and add-on appointments. - Organize, date, and file incoming reports into patient medical records promptly and accurately. - Collect and prepare medical records from clinical areas and physician offices for next-day appointments. - Process requests for medical information, including photocopying records for patients, physicians, insurers, and legal entities. - Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies in all tasks. - Contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives by identifying areas for operational enhancement. - Provide timely responses to healthcare providers' requests for medical information to support patient care. - Support the overall mission of the healthcare facility by ensuring the accuracy and accessibility of medical records. Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent is required. - Familiarity with medical record principles and practices is essential. - Previous clerical or office experience, preferably in a Medical Records Department. - Proficiency in using computers, particularly in a Windows environment with Office applications. - Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with healthcare staff. - Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements relevant to the position. - Experience working with electronic medical records systems is preferred.
